BOOK REVIEW:- THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW
The Woman in the Window is a mystery and thriller novel. It is written by
Dan Mallory with a pen name, A.J Finn.
Anna, who is the protagonist in the novel, is suffering from agoraphobia.
Taking medication and have a hallucination problem. She is living in New York.
After the death of her family. Death of those, she doesn't accept as truth. She
talked with them in her dreams. She plays online games, watching movies, and
drinking alcohol. But also prying on her neighbors.
One day, while looking over neighbors she saw one thing that put her in
danger. The actual story started from that incident. Following all other events
were just pulling triggers for readers to read more and more.
In the beginning, with the slow speed of the writer, I felt less interested. But as my
friend Stephan was reading deep. His experiences and excitement also trigger my
curiosity again.
But l would say he was right. I read it and suspense began there, at some
point, l felt, l have to finish it in one day. But as it is a long
novel, it took time to understand things clearly.
The way the writer narrated the story is mind-blowing. His unique style of telling
a story. Especially suspense and thriller at every point going high. Somehow l guesses
the end, but also want to read it in curiosity.
The plot of the novel is full of suspense and high climax pitch. It is like
tasty food, so the reader will be stuck with it from the beginning till he/she
finishes reading it. It gives goosebumps and tension like scenes. What will
happen next? Is it true or not? Whom to believe or what to believe? Reader's
craving will increase chapter by chapter to get an answer to those questions.
Anna was addicted to Alcohol and a patient with agoraphobia. Her hallucinations and
reality blend in the story. But her suspicious thinking made her a winner in the
end.
The high climax was there when Ethan (neighbor's son) tried to kill her. But
what happened after that was unpredictable for the reader.
"I was fighting for my life. So, I must not want to die. And if I don’t
want to die, I’ve got to start living."
The end of the novel is best. Funny but interesting one. She never leaves the habit
of looking in the neighbor's house. It proved in the end that why the writer
named this novel, "Woman in the Window."
I would recommend this novel to all, you won't regret reading this novel. It is
the best thriller novel.
